The Himalayas are not the edge of the world economy — they are one of its operating systems. HEF is a global economic platform transforming shared intelligence into investable priorities and coordinated action across water, energy, trade, infrastructure, technology, climate, and capital.
HEF's ambition is to be the single most current, most intelligent source of strategic socioeconomic intelligence on the Himalayan region — read for clarity on where the region is heading, not for alarm about where it has been. India, as the region's largest economy and its central strategic anchor, is HEF's primary lens throughout.
HEF's credibility rests on its mandate, evidence, methodology, and published outcomes — not on founders, speakers, or advisory boards. The institution is deliberately person-agnostic.

Briefs, Whitepapers, and Trackers are built from public filings, government releases, multilateral-institution data, and primary regional reporting. Every publication carries a source citation; every Tracker carries a methodology disclosure describing how its figure is calculated and how often it is reviewed. The Project Observatory compiles publicly reported information and does not imply field verification by HEF.
What we will not do.
- Frame every issue — climate, water stress, infrastructure gaps — around progress, resolution, and investable opportunity, not alarm. HEF is a strategic intelligence platform, not an advocacy or campaigning organization.
- Never fabricate missing information, and never present inference as confirmed fact.
- Link to original reporting and attribute all externally sourced material.
- Flag conflicting accounts and label developing stories as developing.
- Route low-confidence or contested claims to review before publication.
- Keep summaries factual, concise, and institutionally neutral — no sensational or alarmist framing.
A preferred order of sources.
HEF prefers sources in the following order, and respects robots.txt, publisher terms, copyright, paywalls, rate limits, and attribution and licensing conditions on every source used:

HEF does not bypass paywalls and does not republish complete articles — only the information required for analysis, with attribution and a direct link to the original source.
Photography is sourced exclusively from Wikimedia Commons under CC0, CC BY, or CC BY-SA licenses, or public domain. Every image carries a caption identifying what is actually depicted, the photographer, and a link to the source file — a photo is never presented as depicting a specific named project unless it genuinely does.

HEF's legitimacy comes from its mandate, evidence, methodology, systems, and published outcomes — not from founders, speakers, celebrities, or advisory boards. Editorial and research decisions follow the standards on this page rather than any individual's discretion.
Disclosed as established.
As of this page's last update, HEF has not publicly disclosed any external funding. As funding relationships are formalized, each will be disclosed here individually, by source and by category.
Disclosed, or it doesn't run.
Contributors and editors are required to disclose financial, advisory, or personal relationships with entities covered in HEF research, trackers, or the Project Observatory. An undisclosed conflict is grounds for correction or removal of the affected work.
Recorded, not overwritten.
When a factual error is identified in a published Brief, Whitepaper, Tracker, or Project entry, HEF records the correction alongside the original publication rather than silently editing it. Corrections are attributed a date and a reason.
Measured, publicly.
HEF publishes its indicators openly on the Trackers pages and reports progress against Global Agenda outcomes as the Annual Forum's accountability cycle produces them. No Forum cycle has completed yet — this section will be updated as milestones are reached.
